While the rest of the market dropped sharply, shares of Humana surged as high as 6 percent earlier this week after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services indicated Medicare Advantage reimbursement rates will rise next year instead of fall, according to a news release.
Humana shares took a 4 percent jump, ending Tuesday at $63.95. Shares of HealthSpring, another Medicare Advantage beneficiary, also surged. Those shares climbed 2.5 percent to $38, according to the report.
