As the House readies for a vote next week to repeal the healthcare reform law, HHS is preparing to release a list of ways a repeal would negatively affect tens of millions of Americans, according to a report by the Hill.
The release will say that repeal would mean:
• More than 1.2 million young adults under 26 would lose insurance through their parents' health plans.
• More than 165 million individuals would be subjected to lifetime coverage limits.
• About 16 million could have their insurance dropped at any moment.
• Forty-four million seniors would be charged a co-pay for preventive services.
The release will also include a state-by-state breakdown of the effects of a repeal.
The new Republican-controlled House will hold a vote to repeal the healthcare reform law on Jan. 12.
