Henry Ford Health System, based in Detroit, announced the closing of its Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, Mich., effective March 31, according to a Henry Ford Health System news release.
Reasons for the hospital's close include a loss of $70 million and only about 5 percent of market share, according to the report.
The closing of the 203-bed hospital will affect 700 full- and part-time workers. Most will move into the 800 job openings available in the Ford System while the rest of the workers will receive financial and job placement assistance.
