The healthcare industry added 19,000 jobs in April, according to the latest statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Within the industry, employment in ambulatory healthcare services alone, which includes home healthcare and offices of physicians, rose by 15,000. Across industries, employment increased in professional and business services, retail trade and healthcare but declined in transportation and warehousing.
