HCA is planning a $129 million upgrade of its Overland Park (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, adding a 105-bed tower and doubling the size of its ED to 24 beds, according to a report by the Kansas City Business Journal.
Early stages of the project, to be completed in June and July, involve building a 13-room women’s surgical unit and expanding the neonatal intensive care unit from 57 to 71 beds.
HCA bought the 346-licensed-bed hospital in 2002 as part of its acquisition of the Health Midwest system and has already spent $92 million on the hospital.
