Congressional representatives, particularly those in the Republican Doctors Caucus, have begun to question what exactly the meaningful use program has achieved, according to a report in Politico.
"As we get to the end of those dollars and they've been expended, have we gotten what we've asked for?" Rep. Michael Burgess, MD (R-Texas), said, according to the report.
However, he doesn't place blame solely on the ONC and HHS. While the meaningful use program has not achieved all of its goals, particularly around interoperability, "some of that responsibility lies in the United States Congress for sure," he said.
