Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, N.C., has received the green light to move forward with a $53 million expansion plan, according to a Carteret County News-Times report.
County commissioners unanimously approved the plans, and construction could begin early next year. The plans call for expansion to make space for gastroenterology, neurology and other physician specialties. It also calls for an on-campus cancer center and more.
Prior to start of construction, the hospital will assess debt service capacity and funding needs and also work on certificate of need for the proposed cancer center.
