VHA, a national hospital network and group purchasing organization, has recognized nine hospitals and health systems with its 2012 Supply Chain Management Excellence Awards.
The organizations received the awards based on their operational efficiencies and reduced costs from the supply chain but a continued emphasis on quality patient care. The winners were:

• Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wis.
• Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa.
• Novant Health in Winston-Salem, N.C.
• Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio
• Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
• WellStar Paulding Hospital in Dallas, Ga.
• Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H.
• Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital
