Medicare Reimbursement Explained for Single-Use Duodenoscopes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved a New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) applicable to EXALT™ Model D that will provide eligible inpatient cases with an additional device-specific payment. This is in addition to the Transitional Pass-Through (TPT) payment for single-use duodenoscopes applicable to EXALT Model D that allows for device reimbursement for Medicare cases performed in the outpatient setting, approved in 2020.

Here, NTAP, TPT and the newly created ICD-10 codes applicable to EXALT Model D are explained.
