A Connecticut man pleaded guilty to offenses related to a bomb threat he called in to Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital in May 2021.
Alexander Bradley, 44, called the Yale University Health Clinic and spoke to a nurse. He asked if he had reached the hospital, and when informed he had not, Mr. Bradley complained he was being denied care and stated he would bomb the hospital. Approximately 30 minutes later, he anonymously called the Yale New Haven Hospital and stated he had placed a pressure cooker containing a bomb outside the hospital. The call was a hoax, but it disrupted hospital operations and required a significant response from law enforcement, according to a Dec. 11 Justice Department news release.
The FBI's Joint Terrorist Task Force determined the phone number used to make the threat was linked to Mr. Bradley and he was arrested April 28, 2022.
Mr. Bradley pleaded guilty to conveying false information about explosives, and false information and hoaxes. He faces up to 15 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced March 7.
