Facing declining admissions, Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, N.Y., is laying off 12 employees, according to a Long Island Newsday report.
Administrative staff will be affected by the cuts, according to the report. Peconic Bay Medical Center employs roughly 1,200 people.
Hospital admissions were down 8 percent in Peconic Bay Medical Center's first quarter, which led to the workforce reduction decision, according to the report.
