York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health is using a $1.5 million donation to launch a new nursing innovation unit.
Philanthropists Jeanne and Ed Arnold donated the money, and the innovation unit will be named after Ms. Arnold. The center will include professional development opportunities, innovation and research opportunities and clinical practice, according to a Dec. 18 WellSpan news release.
"Jeanne has a deep passion for the nursing profession, and she understands the importance of innovating in nursing care delivery across the country and right here at home," Patty Donley, vice president of WellSpan Health and president of WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, said in the news release. "This center will bring together all facets of research and education to develop innovative solutions that support our nurses who are the heart and soul of the care we provide here at WellSpan. She is a pillar in this community and this donation enshrines her legacy."
