Medtech giant Philips is expanding its partnership with Boston-based MIT to help researchers access a larger dataset and study how artificial intelligence can be used in healthcare.
The updated data set includes de-identified data of 200,000 critical care patients. The data set is available to researchers studying AI and machine learning's impact on healthcare, according to an April 18 Philips news release.
The original dataset was cited by 3,000 researchers. The updated version includes information from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This is how we can enhance patient care and improve clinical outcomes: liberating and connecting data across systems and applications with integrated devices, systems and informatics, which can inform research with patient insights that can help clinicians make the right decision at the right time for their patients," Shiv Gopalkrishnan, general manager of electronic medical record and care management at Philips, said in the release.
