Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health is partnering with Clew to implement artificial intelligence-powered virtual intensive care units.
The Clew virtual ICU recognizes patients who are more likely to deteriorate so clinicians can prioritize them. The virtual ICU rooms will cover 174 beds at both Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center and Reading, Pa.-based Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital, according to the Sept. 29 Clew news release.
The service will go live in late September, and Penn State hopes the virtual care rooms will help prevent clinician burnout.
