New York City-based Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai joined in on a $12.1 million series A financing round for BeeKeeperAI.
BeeKeeperAI helps health systems deploy artificial intelligence tools in a way that keeps data secure. The company will use the financing to expand its flagship EscrowAI platform, according to a June 27 BeeKeeperAI news release.
EscrowAI is a platform built with Microsoft Azure, which is designed to allow medical organizations to conduct HIPAA-compliant research on real data.
"We look forward to deploying EscrowAI to further secure the privacy of Mount Sinai's data, and our confidence in EscrowAI is evidenced by our investment in BeeKeeperAI. The deployment will streamline collaborations to positively impact health and well-being for patients and society," Erik Lium, PhD, chief commercial innovation officer at Mount Sinai and president of Mount Sinai Innovation Partners, said in the release.
