Financial giant Morgan Stanley revealed the five winners of its second annual Alliance for Children's Mental Health Innovation Awards; each winner will receive a $100,000 grant to help scale their company.
The five winners, according to a Feb. 27 Morgan Stanley news release:
- Closegap: An education telehealth startup, Closegap works with educators to provide students with an online mental health check-in tool.
- The Confess Project: The project works to train barbers and stylists to become mental health advocates with the goal of building mental health awareness in the Black community.
- The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide: The society works to raise awareness of teen suicide through specialized training programs.
- Strategies for Youth: This project works to keep youth out of the carceral system through educational-based interventions, specifically targeting LGBT youth.
- Up2Us Sports: Up2Us is an app that provides youth sports coaches with mental health resources.
