Morgan Stanley unveils cohort of pediatric mental health award winners

Financial giant Morgan Stanley revealed the five winners of its second annual Alliance for Children's Mental Health Innovation Awards; each winner will receive a $100,000 grant to help scale their company.

The five winners, according to a Feb. 27 Morgan Stanley news release:

  1. Closegap: An education telehealth startup, Closegap works with educators to provide students with an online mental health check-in tool.

  2. The Confess Project: The project works to train barbers and stylists to become mental health advocates with the goal of building mental health awareness in the Black community.

  3. The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide: The society works to raise awareness of teen suicide through specialized training programs.

  4. Strategies for Youth: This project works to keep youth out of the carceral system through educational-based interventions, specifically targeting LGBT youth.

  5. Up2Us Sports: Up2Us is an app that provides youth sports coaches with mental health resources.
