A Mississippi hospital is among the users of a new electronic medication tray management system.
Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb utilizes the Simplifi+ MedTrays solution from Wolters Kluwer that employs barcode scanning to help ensure the right drugs are given out in the right doses at the right places.
"Once we migrated to Simplifi+ MedTrays, we officially retired the paper binders our team used to manage medication tray restocking and management," said Tiffany Poole, PharmD, director of pharmacy at Southwest Mississippi Regional, in a Dec. 1 Wolters Kluwer news release. "Streamlining our workflow with MedTrays' ability to electronically trace medication lot numbers and expiration dates provides a significant value to my team's time and our ability to ensure overall patient safety."
