Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has entered into a know-how and stock purchase agreement with digital health company Xsensio to develop wearables for critical care.
In exchange for a financial interest in the technology, Mayo Clinic will allow its subject matter experts to provide clinical and product-related advice to develop continuous, real-time, on-body monitoring of biochemical data. The goal is to boost critical care in the hospital and at home through earlier detection of acute events, rapid clinical workflow, and remote patient monitoring.
"We are very excited to establish a collaboration with Mayo Clinic," said Esmeralda Megally, co-founder and CEO of Xsensio, in a Jan. 31 company news release.
