The venture capital arms of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health and Cleveland-based University Hospitals joined in a $20 million series B financing round for clinical workforce intelligence company Axuall.
Axuall provides workforce data to healthcare organizations to help with network planning and reduce onboarding time.
The company will use the funding to grow its sales and marketing teams, develop its data network and accelerate its application program interface integration, according to a May 31 Axuall news release.
The venture capital arm of Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare also participated in the funding round.
"Timely clinician population data is key to optimizing a healthcare workforce, a factor that ranks among the most critical priorities for healthcare leaders," Hartford HealthCare Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer Ajay Kumar, MD, said in the release. "An optimized workforce enables organizations to meet demand, improving patient outcomes and healthcare systems' economics."
