Care.AI, an artificial intelligence ambient monitoring company for healthcare, has raised $27 million in funding from Crescent Cove Advisors.
The company's Smart Care Facility platform uses AI-powered sensors to streamline clinical workflows and help clinicians make decisions. Additionally, the platform has a command center that features virtual nursing, virtual sitting and ambient monitoring tools, according to a Nov. 21 Care.AI news release.
More than 1,500 healthcare facilities across the country are using Care.AI's technology.
"The physical, emotional, and economic burden on our caregivers has never been more challenging. Processes remain manual and time-consuming, and care teams are bogged down with burdensome tasks and documentation – and unfortunately, clinicians and patients suffer the consequences," founder and CEO Chakri Toleti said. "Our mission is to enable the transformational promise of a smart care facility, providing a level of care the world has never seen."
"I want to kill the EMR," Mr. Toleti told an Axios reporter at the HLTH Conference.
