Healthcare AI startup raises $20M for global expansion

South Korea healthcare startup AIRS Medical has raised $20 million in series B funding.

The software company, founded in 2018, specializes in artificial intelligence-based diagnostics tests and robotic technologies for patients and healthcare providers and won the 2019 and 2020 fastMRI challenge, according to an Aug. 19 AIRS Medical news release.

Q Capital Partners and Hanwha Life joined the funding round, as well as Klim Ventures, which also participated in its series A funding.

"We believe we can transform the healthcare ecosystem by solving the current dependency on analog machines by replacing them with data-driven medicine," CEO of AIRS Medical Hye-seong Lee said. "Through the series B funding we've secured, we will be taking our innovative diagnostic solutions to the global market."
