HCA Florida Largo Hospital will use artificial intelligence to help detect colorectal cancer early.
The hospital is participating in a study that uses Fujifilm's AI technology to detect multiple polyps and polyps in the distal and proximal colon, according to an Aug. 4 press release.
The aim of the AI technology is to detect polyps before they become cancerous.
"It's incredibly exciting for HCA Florida Largo Hospital to be on the forefront of the latest technologies in healthcare," Meir Mizrahi, MD, advanced endoscopy fellowship program director at HCA Florida Largo Hospital, said in the release "By participating in the study on use of artificial intelligence for polyp detection, we may offer our patients an elevated level of healthcare."
