General Dynamics IT has been awarded a five-year, $110 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide IT and service desk support to VA locations nationwide, according to Sept. 26 reporting in Washington Technology.
General Dynamics IT is looking to implement remote automation tools for the VA that will allow veterans to complete more self-service tasks while they look for care. General Dynamics IT has provided service desk support to the VA since 2018.
"This task order will enhance service delivery, reduce cost, and improve the quality of IT services for all VA personnel," said Kamal Narang, General Dynamics IT vice president and general manager for federal health.
General Dynamics IT will provide service desk support out of its centers in Bossier City, La., and El Paso, Texas.
