Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has teamed up with the health department of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on an innovation partnership to advance pediatric care worldwide.
The two entities will exchange faculty, researchers and students, organize online learning opportunities, and launch conferences, seminars and workshops. CHOP and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi aim to advance cell and gene therapies and other rare disease treatments.
"CHOP is dedicated to improving health outcomes for children around the world and to ensuring that all children have access to the care they need — including cell and gene therapies," said CHOP President and CEO Madeline Bell, BSN, in a June 9 statement. "Our partnership with DoH will help us advance pediatric research and make breakthroughs that will benefit children in Abu Dhabi and across the globe."
