Best Buy entered into a partnership with Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, a part of Advocate Health, to enhance its hospital-at-home program.
Under the partnership, Best Buy's Geek Squad will be in charge of setting up remote patient monitoring technology in patients' homes for Atrium's hospital-at-home program. Best Buy will also inform patients and others in the home on how to use the devices, according to a March 7 release from Atrium.
"Our partnership with Best Buy Health will help change the lives of our patients and consumers, giving them access to the tools and experiences they need to receive care in the comfort of their own home," said Rasu Shrestha, MD, chief innovation and commercialization officer at Advocate Health. "Our surveys show high levels of patient satisfaction for our hospital at home experience and the use of virtual care is a valuable tool in our efforts to eradicate both economic and geographic disparities in accessing healthcare services."
This is the retailer's latest healthcare push.
On March 2, Best Buy said it was partnering with Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System and New York City-based NYU Langone Health on remote patient monitoring.
