Allina Health has partnered with software company Qventus to use its artificial intelligence-based tool to automate operating room scheduling processes.
The tool, dubbed the Perioperative Solution, can integrate into a health system's EHR system and uses machine learning-based automation, behavioral science, and comprehensive data to create new levels of efficiency across OR departments.
Minneapolis-based Allina Health has been using the new system since mid-2022 and, according to a Jan. 10 news release from Qventus, has improved their surgical service lines by:
- Adding 3.5 cases per OR per month in the first four months.
- Increasing cases per surgical robot per month by 36 percent.
- Releasing more than 100 hours of OR block time per month.
- Automatically scheduling 2 of 3 elective cases.
