Rapid progress in AI technology provides innovative solutions for healthcare organizations to address financial and workforce challenges with equal intensity, Politico reported Dec. 15.
Sunil Dadlani, chief information and digital transformation officer at Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System, said at a summit that healthcare's biggest problems — labor shortages, clinician burnout and declining profitability — could be AI's biggest gains as the technology can help executives solve some of those challenges.
"Generative AI is playing a dominant role," he said at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society AI summit, according to Politico. "I don't think there is any facet in the healthcare industry that will not be touched by AI."
Mr. Dadlani said AI could help reduce paperwork, stretch the abilities of clinicians or make care more cost-effective.
