8 health system IT influencers worth a follow in '24

Eight health system executives are among HealthTech Magazine's 30 healthcare IT influencers to follow in 2024.

The list compiled leaders who regularly post solid insights on social media platforms such as X and LinkedIn about digital health, virtual care and artificial intelligence, according to the June 24 article. Here are the leaders who work for health systems (in alphabetical order):

1. John Brownstein, PhD, chief innovation officer of Boston Children's Hospital.

2. Gabe Charbonneau, MD, rural family physician for Providence (Renton, Wash.) and co-founder of Medicine Forward, a nonprofit working to restore the physician-patient relationship.

3. Amaka Eneanya, MD, chief transformation officer of Emory Healthcare (Atlanta).

4. Robert Garrett, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health (Edison, N.J.).

5. Natalie Pageler, MD, chief medical information officer of Stanford Children's Health (Palo Alto, Calif.).

6. Matthew Sakumoto, MD, "virtual-first" primary care physician at Sutter Health (Sacramento, Calif.) and chief medical information officer for Sutter West Bay Medical Group (San Francisco).

7. Karandeep Singh, MD, chief health AI officer at UC San Diego Health.

8. Chris Waugh, chief design and innovation officer of Sutter Health.
