- Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health is partnering with medtech company NeuroBell to study the effectiveness of portable artificial intelligence-based electroencephalography equipment in detecting seizures in newborns.
- Cardiosense, a digital health company using AI to detect heart disease, received backing from the venture capital arms of Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare and West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Healthcare in a $15 million financing round.
- The FDA cleared an AI-powered tool to detect heart failure developed at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
- Imaging company Endoluxe partnered with the Mayo Clinic to research the use of AI in treating bladder cancer.
- Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern University created an AI healthcare innovation and research hub.
