5 recent AI healthcare updates

Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform healthcare delivery, and hospitals across the country are making serious investments in AI.

Five healthcare AI updates Becker's has covered since Dec. 10:

  1. Children's Hospital Los Angeles received a $2.8 million National Institutes of Health grant to use an AI-based tool that will predict the proper amount of medication dosage children in the ICU need.
  2. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center partnered with Ibex Medical Analytics to deploy an AI-based tool used in diagnosing prostate cancer.
  3. EyeKnow, a company that uses AI to reduce workplace violence, won a $75,000 nursing care challenge that will allow the Israeli startup to enter the U.S. market.
  4. Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health System integrated Care.ai's AI-powered virtual nursing platform.
  5. Enveda Biosciences, a drug discovery company that uses machine learning and AI, raised $68 million.
