The CDC on Sept. 10 updated its infection prevention and control recommendations for healthcare organizations during the pandemic, AHA News reported.
The agency also updated its recommendations on preventing the virus's spread in nursing homes and managing healthcare workers who were exposed or tested positive for the virus.
The updates don't substantially change recommended practices. Instead, they seek to clarify and simplify guidelines on mask-wearing, COVID-19 testing and quarantine protocols for fully vaccinated patients.
The CDC is hosting a webinar Sept. 17 in which experts will summarize the new guidelines and answer healthcare leaders' questions. The webinar is part of Project Firstline, the agency's national training collaborative for healthcare infection prevention and control. Click here to register.
