Unionized nurses at Morrisville, Vt.-based Copley Hospital ratified a new labor deal with the facility, reports the News & Citizen.
The contract agreement, which runs through May 2021, covers 95 members of United Nurses and Allied Professionals Local 5109. It was ratified May 30, days after a tentative agreement was reached.
Both sides praised the deal in a joint statement.
The hospital's CNO, Lori Profota, DNP, RN, called contract negotiations a "very positive and collaborative experience."
"Nursing union leaders and hospital officials all came together over the last few months with a shared vision of safe, efficient, quality nursing care throughout our organization," she said.
Andrew Duff, RN, president of UNAP Local 5109, said: "We made a commitment to work toward a contract within the planned number of negotiation sessions. Both parties had good guidance, and each party achieved some of their goals. In the world of negotiation, that's a win."
The statement did not offer details of the agreement, but said the hospital and union will implement more professional development for all nurses.
