Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital workers have ratified a new five-year contact with the hospital, according to WSAZ.
Here are three things to know about the contract.
1. The contract covers more than 800 employees represented by SEIU District 1199.
2. Details of the new contract are not being disclosed. However, union spokeswoman Joyce Gibson said the agreement includes wage increases in all five years of the contract and "preserve[s] quality care and services for our patients and visitors."
3. CHH also commented on the contract. "Members of CHH leadership and SEIU 1199 negotiating committee met in good faith voluntary negotiations for two days this week in an effort to achieve a contract that is beneficial to all involved. Our negotiations were positive and productive and we are pleased to have reached a long-term, fair agreement that represents the hard work and commitment of both sides," CHH President and CEO Kevin N. Fowler said, according to WSAZ.
