Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida will offer a voluntary separation program for certain eligible workers, according to a Miami Herald report.
Here are four things to know about the program.
1. Baptist Health South Florida did not reveal its goal for workforce reduction to media.
2. Only some system workers will be eligible for the buyout. Workers excluded from the program include physicians and nurses involved in direct patient care, temporary workers and anyone hired after June 30, the Miami Herald reports.
3. Adriene McCoy, corporate vice president and head of human resources, said terms of the separation program will depend on each employee's level and length of service, according to the report.
4. Ms. McCoy also said in the report that money saved through the buyouts will be reinvested in growth areas, such as the new Miami Cancer Institute, enhanced technology and an expansion of primary care and outpatient services. "Our goal is to increase efficiencies while maintaining high levels of quality patient care and service," she added. "Once we determine the number of employees who choose to participate in this program, we will be able to better evaluate our next steps."
