Strike set at Los Angeles hospital

Members of the California Nurses Association are set to strike May 11 at PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles.

The union represents about 600 registered nurses at the hospital, according to a news release from the CNA. PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, which became part of Whittier, Calif.-based PIH Health in December 2019, is a 408-bed facility, according to its website.

Union members say they are "protesting management's proposals to eliminate health and safety protections and their refusal to address the hospital's severe staffing crisis."

They are calling on Good Samaritan to agree to a contract that supports safe, quality patient care at the hospital.
