University of Louisville's (Ky.) board of trustees voted to give David Dunn, MD, executive vice president of health affairs, authority to sign a deal that would align University of Louisville Hospital with a private partner, according to a Business First report.
The hospital has been searching for a partner since February in order to combat financial struggles. In September, a deadline for request for proposals was delayed so the hospital could continue negotiations.
With the authority just granted, Dr. Dunn expects to make a decision on a partner in the upcoming weeks, according to the report. He would not comment on who the partners are or how many are being considered.
