Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Memorial Health System's proposed lease of its Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs to University of Colorado Health has been approved by Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.
University of Colorado Health is a newly created organization that includes Loveland, Colo.-based Medical Center of the Rockies, Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo.; and University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colo.
Mr. Suthers determined that the transaction meets the relevant criteria of the Colorado Hospital Transfer Act and may proceed without further review, according to the release. The transaction will now be subject to a vote by the residents of Colorado Springs as part of a special election Aug. 28.
