Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin has given Boston-based Steward Health Care more time to close its acquisition of Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I.
Last week, Steward requested that Mr. Kilmartin waive a condition he set when approving the deal, which required Steward to complete the acquisition in 60 days. Following the condition, the deal should have been completed by July 27.
In a statement, Mr. Kilmartin said he denied Steward's request to waive the condition, but did amend the closing date, extending it to Aug. 31.
