Charlevoix (Mich.) Area Hospital has signed a regional affiliation agreement with Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare, expanding its relationship to provide access to Munson services and consulting.
Charlevoix and Munson worked together through a 2004 rural health network agreement, under which Munson provided consulting and advice on emergency medical services, medical staff services, quality improvement and plans for care.
This latest affiliation agreement is a "logical extension" of that, according to Munson President and CEO Ed Ness, and will allow Charlevoix access to a broader range of support. "Both agreements are focused on maintaining a range of necessary and 'close to home' healthcare services in Charlevoix," Mr. Ness said in the release.
