Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health has acquired Milford (Mass.) Regional Medical Center and the Milford Regional Physician Group as part of a new corporate affiliation.
Milford Regional Medical Center has changed its name and branding to UMass Memorial Health-Milford Regional Medical Center, according to an Oct. 1 news release from UMass Memorial Health.
Milford Regional President Ed Kelly will stay in his role while joining UMass Memorial Health's leadership team. Approximately 2,500 employees and providers from Milford Regional are now part of UMass Memorial Health, the release said.
There will be no change to patient care, medical records, billing or insurance at the hospital, according to a news release from UMass Memorial Health-Milford Regional Medical Center.
The new affiliation will not affect the hospital's clinical relationships with other academic medical centers, including Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, the release said.
