King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services has entered an agreement to purchase a 109-bed behavioral health hospital and two outpatient clinics in Gulfport, Miss., from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
Memorial Hospital at Gulfport President and CEO Gary Marchand expressed excitement about the sale of the hospital and clinics to UHS, which is the largest facility-based behavioral health provider in the U.S. "We welcome UHS's expansion to the coastal counties of Mississippi as a trusted provider of behavioral health services in our community," he said in a statement.
The parties expect to complete the transaction in the second quarter of 2018.
