The CEO of Denver-based HCA-HealthOne has expressed concern over the transparency of bidding to lease Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, Colo., according to a Colorado Springs Gazette report.
Jeff Dorsey, CEO of HCA-HealthOne, said he is concerned that the Memorial task force heading the lease process will not make all of the bids public. Mike Anthony, the task force's consultant on the lease process, said the task force has planned to follow procurement regulations that keep bids private until a winning proposal is chosen, according to the report.
Requests for proposals have been sent to potential bidders and include a confidentiality clause requiring them to not disclose their bids or speak publicly about them.
Mr. Dorsey said he has seen nothing in the that would require secrecy in the early round of bidding. He also said that while he doesn't know if his bid will be "the best," he isn't hesitant to make it public.
