Although the agreement has been signed, ValleyCare's corporate members still need to approve it before it goes through the regulatory review process.
"The combination of ValleyCare and Stanford Health Care will support the delivery of preeminent healthcare to Tri-Valley residents, and will advance Stanford's mission to care, educate, and discover," said Amir Dan Rubin, president and CEO of Stanford Health Care.
Stanford Health Care is a part of Stanford Medicine, which includes the Stanford University School of Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
