St. Vincent Health in Indianapolis and St. Mary's Health System in Evansville, Ind., both a part of St. Louis-based Ascension Health, plan to merge contracting and recruiting functions July 1, according to an Indiana Business Journal report.
A merger of those corporate functions is intended to allow both health systems to negotiate better deals with suppliers and health insurers, and to offer better career opportunities to physicians and healthcare executives. According to the report, St. Vincent and St. Mary's may also integrate computer systems.
