Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Healthcare System has agreed to extend the deadline for submittal of letters of intent from Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA and Salina, Calif.-based Natividad Medical Center to July 2.
The original due date for the letters of intent was June 15. According to the release, SVMHS agreed to extend that deadline so more time could be given to the due diligence process.
After receiving and reviewing the letters of intent, the SVMHS board of directors will determine if an affiliation with either HCA or NMC is in the best interest of the healthcare district, according to the release.
