Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, N.Y., is nearing a clinical affiliation agreement with Mount Sinai Medical Center, based in Queens, according to a Staten Island North Shore report.
The deal is expected to be complete by early 2012, pending approval from the New York State Department of Health.
Under the affiliation, the two hospitals will partner to offer certain clinical services, but the two will keep finances and operations separate, according to the report.
RUMC rejected an affiliation offer from North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System due to antitrust concerns.
