West Memphis, Ark.-based Crittenden Regional Hospital could open its doors again through a deal with Nashville, Tenn.-based Ameris Health Systems, according to a WREG report.
Crittenden Regional Hospital filed for bankruptcy and closed in September 2014.
Crittenden County officials are involved in negotiations with Ameris, and the company has proposed investing $15 million in the hospital if certain conditions are met, such as the citizens of the county approving a 1 percent sales tax increase to help keep the hospital open.
Crittenden County Judge Woody Wheeless, who has been working with county officials to find a new operator for the hospital, told the Memphis Business Journal if the hospital does reopen it would be a public-private partnership so the public would know where every dollar went.
