Pittsburgh-based West Penn Allegheny Health System has released 14 more pages of its affiliation agreement with insurer Highmark, revealing its contracts with physician groups and other providers, according to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report.
The disclosure comes after a federal judge ordered the hospital system to publicly file the agreement, but said it could "black out" the names of individual physicians who receive $500,000 or more from West Penn.
The pages show contracts with organizations that exceed $900,000, including a July 2010 affiliation agreement with Premier Medical Associates — the largest independent physicians group in the region. Highmark formed an affiliation with Premier earlier this month as part of its acquisition of West Penn.
Other contracts listed in the agreement include those between West Penn and specialty groups. There is also a sponsorship agreement between West Penn and the Pittsburgh Pirates and lease agreements between West Penn and the owners of buildings occupied by the system.
