Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass., will delay its decision on a merger or sale with another hospital, pushing it back from the end of November to the end of February, according to a Daily Hampshire Gazette report.
Hospital officials delayed the decision so they would have enough time to meet with the three finalists for a third round of meetings and receive feedback from the hospital community.
The three finalists to merge or buy Cooley Dickinson are Baystate Health Systems of Springfield, Mass., Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Vanguard Health Systems of Nashville, Tenn.
