Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Maimonides Medical Center signed an affiliation agreement to become a university hospital under Yeshiva University's Albert Einstein College of Medicine and entered into a strategic alliance with Bronx, N.Y.-based Montefiore Medical Center, which also operates as an academic medical center for Einstein.
Maimonides President and CEO Pamela Brier said in a news release, "As Einstein's Brooklyn campus, we will strengthen our teaching programs and fortify physician recruitment. As a strategic partner with Montefiore, we will better prepare for new models of health care delivery."
Maimonides physicians who work with students will be made Einstein faculty members. It will share its IT infrastructure and expertise in mental health treatment with Montefiore, which is skilled in integrated care delivery and offers advanced subspecialty care, according to the release.
